Sit. Stay. Art! partners local artists with shelter pets to raise awareness, adoptions and funding for local humane organizations. Artists are called to select a pet awaiting adoption as the inspiration for their work. The artwork is then displayed and sold at the event along with a placard featuring the pet’s photo and characteristics or background. Some of the shelter dogs and cats portrayed in the art are brought to the event to be “on display” as well.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, June 1, from 7 to 11 p.m. in downtown Oklahoma City at the Individual Artists of Oklahoma art gallery. Sit. Stay.
